Dr. Peter Miller: Advanced Training In Retinal Diseases
Dr. Peter Miller was born and raised in Amherst, Massachusetts. He graduated Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Biology and went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Following medical school, Dr. Miller moved to Texas where he completed his general medical training at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston. He subsequently underwent advanced training in retinal diseases and surgery techniques at the University of Texas in Houston. Dr. Miller obtained his board certification and began practice in a multi-specialty ophthalmology clinic in McAllen, Texas where he worked for two years. He relocated to Salt Lake City because of his love for skiing and the outdoors.
Dr. Miller is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and a member of both the Utah Medical Association and the Utah Ophthalmology Society.
Dr. Miller has conducted various research in the areas of Marine Ecology, Evolution, Drug Development, Treating Auto-Immune Diseases, Diabetic Retinopathy and Age-Related Macular Degeneration. His work has been presented at numerous international meetings in North America and Europe and he has received funding for his research from the National Institute of Health and the National Science Foundation. Dr. Miller has participated in numerous presentations and lectures to other healthcare professionals regarding the treatment of retinal diseases and is actively involved in the robust clinical research endeavors ongoing at Rocky Mountain Retina Consultants.
