Community Service

The Eye Clinic Surgicenter takes pride in helping our local community here in Billings, Montana, as well as the global community a far. We assist with exams through our affiliation with Riverston Health, regularly make donations to Lions Clubs events, and participate in High School events / teams. We also have staff members that are highly involved in church activities, community service, and coaching. We pride ourselves in being there for our patients in the office and in the communities we serve.

n January of 2008, Dr. LaGreca made his first trek to Kata Lukau on a mission trip to Pina Palmera, in the south of Mexico. He worked with a small team to provide surgery and optometry to those in both local and remote villages.

Dr. LaGreca makes an effort to return each year, offering solutions to impoverished villages who otherwise would not have the care they need.

The Eye Clinic Optical Department was involved in the Navajoland optical project. The first clinical prescription glasses screening and distribution effort to provide prescription eyewear to children in the Utah Navajoland region.

The Eye Clinic donated equipment (auto refractor) as well as frames. We also processed over 175 pairs of glasses for the children that have been affected with bad vision in the Utah Navajoland schools. We were delighted to be a part of this optical project as it helped so many children reach their optimal vision and aptitude potential. Since the rewards for helping someone else were so great in 2008, we chose to participate again in November 2009. In this years efforts we helped another 100 children in the Utah Navajoland region to correct their vision with glasses.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

We are proud to help many aspects of Lions fundraisers as they help so many of our patients regain sight. From Raffles to donating used glasses. The Lions of Montana help Montana’s everyday.

In his spare time, Dr. LaGreca participates in Bike MS a fundraising opportunity for cyclists and all those seeking a personal challenge and a world free of multiple sclerosis.

The Eye Clinic Surgicenter donates time each year to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. Raising awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members.

We’re proud supporters of Casting for Recovery and their work to help bring cancer patients into nature for healing and recovery. Founded on the principles that the natural world is a healing force and that cancer survivors deserve one weekend — free of charge and free of the stresses from medical treatment, home, or workplace — to experience something new and challenging while enjoying beautiful surroundings within an intimate, safe, and nurturing structure.
